This was the beginning of my curly journey. After lots of picking and teasing in got my air to sit in my version of a t.w.a. The fun didn’t last long the wind blew and knocked my hair flat. It kind of funny but my original goal with natural hair was to have a fro like Jill Scott.
Soon after my falling fro episode I stuck with wash and go’s using mostly Fructis Garnier products. There soft curl cream was in my daily routine as well as washing my hair everyday which after a while was taking up too much time. Unfortunately I wasn’t in love with my hair yet so I don’t have any pix…
Unfortunately I think this product has be discontinued but since then I have found more amazing products even though I would still like to experiment with it again.
Well let’s get back to my hair….after not have the best luck with styling was my hair was long enough to flat iron with out have to deal with it puffing back up my addiction to my Andis flat iron (which I got for $12 at Wal-Mart) began. I would re-straighten my hair constantly throughout the day making sure my hair was bone straight or making sure my feathered bangs were still in place…..
Well I think you get the point. My flat iron and I had good times. Fortunately my hair kept growing and remained healthy. Unfortunately I laid my Andis to rest October of 2008 and still have straightened my hair. This was the result of my finding NaturallyCurly.com . I was overwhelmed with info on how to take care of my curls from the book suggestions, informational articles, product reviews and descriptions, and what I feel is the best hair care forum out there. I originally was just planned to grow my hair out and make it stronger to color but then I came across the curlys on YouTube and finally learned some styling techniques for my hair type. Lia81’s video on how to apply my favorite/ Holy Grail product Kinky Curl Curling Custard and how to get my puff to stay in place gave me hope that my natural hair could be fabulous too and I came across other hot curly vloggers like Lov3sponge, Empress Ri, Eden2Gethsemane, LexiWithTheCurls, Curlmebella, CurlyChronicles, Str8isis, MochaKnitster(a fellow cancer survivor), crownofHisglory, Fleurzty,
Well after watching this vids over and over and over I came across several blogs 2 I follow and check multiple times a day which are Mane and Chic and Curly Nikki. These ladies have so good much info and I will have more from them (**fingers crossed**) soon….but shout outs to these ladies I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! Hopefully my blog can be just as hot one day….
…Finally I have come to the point where I love my hair….after doing a bantu knot out I found my signature slash holy grail style…
After experimenting with several products, techniques and methods, silicone products to no cone, and conditioner only methods, my regimen is finally becoming more of a routine then an experiment. I have tired it all and now I want to share my story with the world.
Much Luv & Diamonds and Curls,
