What I think: This gel gets 2 thumbs and a curl up. I’m currently rocking second day hair which looks even better. I have less shrinkage than KCCC and because it was only $3.50 I wasn’t afraid to use the correct amount of product on my hair. I was a little less crunch than KCCC but the results are very similar. I won’t be getting rid of my Kinky Curly products but when my money is low Eco Styler will be my back up. I have two 32 0z jars so it might be a while before I go back to KCCC. I used the Knot Today as my leave in but I do plan to see how it works with other conditioners. This product is wayyyyyyyy better than IC Fantastia gels as well. I don’t have build up and my hair feels so light like its nothing even there. I was able to soften my hair up when I refreshed it with water and smooth coconut oil all over. Its something about PVP and glycerin my hair loves when it comes to gels. I will definately re-purchase.

Rating: 4 diamonds

1 diamond for price (any cheaper just ain’t right)

1/2 diamond for smell (I don’t care for the smell but it goes away once its dry.)

1/2 diamond for ingredients (there is a lot of good stuff in it but also some things I can’t pronounce)

1 diamond for performance (hence 2nd day happy hair)

1 diamond for moisture (it feels soft and moist but not sure until I wash it out)

    • PVP or polyvinylpyrrolidone is in regular people’s words what holds hair together. For you scientist PVP is simply a polymer. You might see it alone or as PVP copolymer or PVP/VA copolymer.

This ingriedent is safe but beware when you see it in shampoos and conditioners. It may leave build up and make hair sticky.

I only like this ingriedent in hair gels. It always makes my curls pop!

I’m not sure how far along you are with transitioning but I’m sure this will do well and not break your budget. Its not only good for wash and go’s but twists and buns.

      • Would you be able to tell me if the glycerin in the Eco Styler gel is from an animal by-product or vegetable? If it’s an animal by-product, would you be able to tell me which animal?

      • as far as i know veggie glycerin is used I never heard of using animal glycerin in hair products…..
